OneWireless Network

The OneWireless™ Network is a multiprotocol, multi-application, multi-standard wireless network that extends process control network into the field.

Cisco Wireless Controller

The Cisco® Wireless Controller enables simple management and deployment of the Honeywell OneWireless™ Network via Cisco 1552S Aironet® Access Points.

Cisco Wireless Controller provides industry-leading mobility, security and management for IPv6 and dual-stack clients, equipping administrators for IPv6 troubleshooting, planning, and client traceability from a common wired and wireless management system. It uses a variety of capabilities, including:

  • Integrated Cisco CleanAir™ technology, which protects802.11n performance by creating a self-healing and self-optimizing wireless network
  • Cisco ClientLink technology, specifically for mixed-client networks, optimizing overall network capacity by helping ensure that 802.11a/g and 802.11n clients operate at the best possible rates
  • Cisco Wireless Controller supports system-wide functions to deliver:
  • Flexibility to configure wireless policy, management, and security settings at any time through centralized provisioning and management
  • Faster response to business needs through centrally managed wireless networks
  • Standardized access point configuration for software versioning

Field Device Access Point

Honeywell OneWireless™ Field Device Access Point (FDAP) is an industrial meshing access point for ISA100™ Wireless (IEC 62734) and WirelessHART (IEC 62591) field instruments and rated for use in hazardous plant environments

Once implemented, the FDAP auto-discovers neighboring wireless devices such as other access points and ISA100 Wireless and WirelessHART field instruments to form a secure IEEE 802.15.4 mesh network. The device supports all ISA100 Wireless and WirelessHART field instruments, including wired HART field instruments connected with wireless adapters.

The FDAP enables users to implement wireless field instruments in harsh multi-path indoor and outdoor environment since its antenna diversity enhances communication reliability in such environments. In addition, it enables use of wireless field instruments for critical monitoring or open loop control in hazardous environments (Class 1 Div 1/Zone 1) that require update rates of less than 10 seconds.

Field Device Access Point Gen3 Plus

The FDAP Gen3 Plus is an industrial meshing access point providing secure and reliable wireless coverage for ISA100 Wireless and/or WirelessHART field instruments and is intended for use with the Cisco Industrial IW6300 Heavy Duty Access Point

The OneWireless Field Device Access Point Gen 3 Plus (FDAP Gen3 Plus) is part of the FDAP Gen3 Series and is used to perform a field retrofit with a Cisco IW6300 Heavy Duty Access Point. The FDAP Gen3 Plus enables the ability to concurrently support ISA100 Wireless and WirelessHART devices in conjunction with the Wi-Fi connectivity offered by a Cisco IW6300 Heavy Duty AP.

The FDAP Gen3 Plus is an industrial meshing access point for ISA100 Wireless and WirelessHART field instruments. It delivers an 802.15.4 radio designated specifically for mission-critical wireless connectivity to industrial sensor equipment communicating using the ISA100 Wireless and WirelessHART standards.

Process Control Access Point

The OneWireless Process Control Access Point is an industrial access point and an integral part of the Honeywell OneWireless™ Network

The OneWireless Process Control Access Point (PCAP) is a Honeywell exclusive offering that simultaneously supports ISA100 Wireless, WirelessHART, Wi-Fi and Ethernet devices on a single industrial wireless network. The IEEE 802.15.4 radio has been designated specifically for mission-critical wireless connectivity to industrial sensor equipment using the ISA100 Wireless and/or WirelessHART standard.

It also has Ethernet and fiber as well as small form-factor pluggable (SFP) backhaul options. The PCAP offers a single-box solution and does not require two separate wireless networks―one for 802.11n and another for wireless sensor networks. By eliminating the extra power and network connections, which can be expensive to deploy in hazardous locations, the PCAP provides cost savings and reduces deployment time.

Wireless Device Manager

Honeywell OneWireless™ Wireless Device Manager (WDM) manages the ISA100 Wireless™ (IEC 62734) field device network and field instrumentation.

WDM hosts the ISA100 Wireless system manager, security manager and gateway.

  • As a gateway, WDM handles communication between ISA100 Wireless field instruments and information systems. It hosts a rich portfolio of interfaces, including Modbus, HART, OPC-UA, OPC-DA, and Experion CDA, Honeywell Enraf and Gateway General Client Interface (GCI)
  • As a system manager, it governs field devices and the communication between them
  • As a security manager, it issues security keys to wireless devices for joining the wireless network.

With WDM, users are able to:

  • Rapidly integrate wireless field instruments into their control and advanced applications
  • Easily monitor and troubleshoot the wireless network with preconfigured report and key performance indicators
  • Reduce cyber security threats with an application proxy agent and a secured HTTPS-based interface
  • Increase data availability and overall network reliability through redundancy capabilities.
